The social return based in ethic projects with social impact is applied in multiple contexts,currently very present. Within the field of design, designers have to be aware and to understand what we are talking about when we mention the impact of products or services in individuals, specific collectives or groups of people. In this session we will focus in the most specific impact, the one that can be provided by the design work when we launch a business.
We want to explain the parameters upon which we balance the individual’s needs with the community’s needs and which is the ethic contribution of design. It is important to understand how we can detect the triple bottom line (society, environment and return) so as to take into account the social and environmental aspects and the economic impacts for the common good.
The approach of this session is based in the procedures of measurement and social impact assessment presented by Susana Balet. The exemplification of the eco-entrepreneurship as a modality will be explained by Oriol Pascual, and the presentation of a social project will be expounded by his coordinator in Barcelona.
