The MA in Illustration and Visual Narrative

Where do you work?

I create graphic humor and comics for magazines, and I’ve published several books.

What has your professional journey been like?

Instagram helped me position myself at a time when graphic humor was very present on social media, which led me to make the leap into magazines and publishing houses.

What is design to you?

Empathizing with the reader’s perspective so that the story you want to tell is understood at first glance.

Who inspires you professionally?

Quentin Blake, Mariscal, Keith Haring, Saul Steinberg, Sempé…

How would you define your time at Elisava?

Having professors who were idols to me and understanding the profession as a way of getting to know yourself, and then making yourself known.

What has had the biggest impact on you from what you learned at Elisava?

That it’s worth working to bring comics to a much wider audience.

A piece of advice:

Even if you’re introspective, make an effort to genuinely get to know the people around you.

A future challenge:

Getting people who don’t read comics to discover how worthwhile it really is.
