Where were you born?

Originally from Castellón, I moved to Milan at 19 to pursue my studies in graphic design. At that time, educational options were limited, and I felt graphic design was the closest path to my interest in the editorial world.

Where do you live?

A globetrotter by profession, I’ve been based in Barcelona for 12 years.

What did you study during your time at Elisava?

I completed the Master’s in Art Direction under the guidance of Jordi Cano. It’s important to mention him because Jordi was a great mentor, along with other professionals who taught me. He helped me step out of my comfort zone and taught me to stand by any proposal as long as I believed in it.

Where do you work?

Currently, I balance my role as Fashion Editor and Coordinator at Herdes Editions with managing Blend Showroom. In parallel, I teach at various institutions, including Elisava, and serve as the Artistic Director for Agatha Ruiz de la Prada.

What has your career journey been like?

After graduating as a graphic designer specializing in art direction, I began my editorial career as Art Director at ODDA Magazine (5 years). I have coordinated the fashion department at Herdes from its inception to the present day. Throughout this exciting editorial journey, I became immersed in the fashion industry, building collaborations and projects with numerous national and international brands, always surrounded by talented teams. Not long after, I began teaching sociology of fashion and trends for specialized master’s programs. More recently, I’ve led the artistic image of Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, working closely with the brand’s founder and Creative Director, Agatha herself.

What does design mean to you?

Design is a tool for expressing our concerns, an escape route to discovering our various talents, a strategy to make our voices heard, and a way to show the worlds we want to leave behind. It’s ambrosia for my soul and a life-giving elixir. Fashion, to me, is a lover, a powerful tool for generating art.

Who inspires you professionally?

People inspire me—their habits, attitudes, personalities, gestures on their faces, flaws I see as virtues… I find inspiration in anything that evokes a feeling in me (pleasure, disgust, euphoria, anger…). I genuinely believe in the power of synesthesia. And when inspiration slows down, I can always turn to the cinema of the ‘40s and ‘50s.

How would you describe your time at Elisava?

Elisava taught me that possibilities are endless, that challenges are artistic advantages, that the concept is our bible, and that the best strategy for success lies in the team you work with.

What left the most lasting impression on you at Elisava?

My teachers. Many of them are now friends and colleagues. I have had the chance to continue learning from them and to transition from listening to them to being part of their projects. Marta Marín is a religion, and Marc Aliart and Ber Arce inspire me for the future.

A piece of advice:

Learn something new every day. Try to master various disciplines and become a 360-degree profile. I love your work. I love early mornings and sleepless nights. Enjoy every stage of a project; embrace your stress, your exhaustion from giving it your all, and the puzzle of ideas. And, of course, take pride in your results. We work in a sector where nurturing your portfolio will be the key to your career success—that and working 24/7.

A future challenge:

To keep learning and teaching, to be ready for all the international challenges ahead, and to keep living beyond the commercial.
