Some students from the Bachelor in Industrial Design Engineering will present their projects at STEAMConf Barcelona 2025, the tenth international learning conference, organized by SokoTech, Fundació “La Caixa”, Ajuntament de Barcelona, and Generalitat de Catalunya.

The ‘Trustto’ project will be presented at the workshop “TRUSTTO: the collective construction of knowledge and skills on social innovation through industrial design engineering,” in which students will show how, through social projects, they work with institutions such as GRAE, Open Arms, and Doctors Without Borders in real contexts. The experience promotes co-creation, applied innovation, and multidisciplinary collaboration, developing critical and creative skills, autonomy, and social responsibility, beyond the final result, with a strong focus on the process and active learning.

‘Trustto’ acts as a multidisciplinary project team, as if it were a start-up that, in collaboration with related entities and suppliers, develops the design and engineering assignment. All projects are self-financed through crowdfunding, mainly to enable functional prototyping. The ‘Blust’ backpack is a medical device that has a transport unit and a charging unit and is designed to transport blood samples in remote regions of Africa.

From November 5 to 8, STEAMConf Barcelona 2025 will host several acts aimed at teachers and students on scientific and technological innovation, future challenges and sustainability in different spaces of CosmoCaixa, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Espai Vela in UPC, and Fundació Pasqual Maragall.
