Third edition of Elisava x Kave Home, an initiative that promotes the talent of our students

Elisava Kave Home

Elisava collaborates one more year with the furniture and decoration brand Kave Home in the 3rd edition of Elisava x Kave Home, a joint initiative to support design through emerging talent and vindicate the power of local craftsmanship. On the Kave Home website you can see and vote the 9 finalist projects, and the one with the most votes will be on sale in a limited edition.

This year, more than 25 students from the Degree in Design (Mentino in Product Design) have participated and have worked together with the group of designers from Kave Home to make their projects a reality. Throughout the process, the students have been accompanied by 4 craftsmen and craftswomen according to their specialisation: Leather (Julián Sañudo), ceramics and clay (Julen Ussia), paper pulp (Olga Serral) and textiles (Francesca Piñol).

Our students’ projects
Nemo (ceramics)

Side table that gives prominence to ceramics through glass. The use of this material is intended to reflect on the effect of industrialisation on craftsmanship.

Montmeló (fabric)

It is an armchair with a tubular structure and a handcrafted fabric made with a technique of “Turkish knots” from pieces of rope. It features a removable structure that combines sophistication with comfort.

Lotus (clay and metal)

“Lotus” represents a family of three auxiliary months of two materialities that have different shapes and sizes. The name of the project comes from the inspiration in pre-Columbian pottery and the lotus flower, which was the fundamental idea to create the shapes.

Vitrina (paper)

This shelf is characterised by the distortion and transparency achieved by the paper used as the base material. This is a challenge for the craftsmanship, as it is not customary to treat paper in objects of these dimensions.

Mio (leather)

A piece designed for the little ones in the house that can evolve as the children grow up. For this reason, it is a multi-purpose piece of furniture that can be transformed into a shelf, a hut or a seat.

Tendu (leather)

This side table redefines the use of leather and stretches it to frame it on a wooden surface. This piece aims to highlight the beauty of the imperfection of natural materials such as leather.

Lú (ceramics)

This is a table lamp that plays with the purity of the ceramic and the metal sheet to create the ambient light. It has a strip of led light that emits light when it bounces off the ceramic lampshade.

Hidn (ceramics)

Hidn allows to create dim light or direct light thanks to the different uses that can be given to it. It can also be adapted as a desk, portable, floor or suspended lamp.

La Mancha (leather)

Bottle rack made only with leather. The leather is not forced, but the natural curvature of the material is followed. In this way, the close relationship between leather and the world of wine is also demonstrated.
