In the second Edition of the ADI-FAD open contest, the contest to design Barcelona’s Christmas lights, the Brosmind Studio from Barcelona, formed by the former students Juan and Alejandro Mingarro, has been selected and will take care of this year’s Christmas lights of passeig de Sant Joan.
The project is inspired by manga shops, Kawaii comic books, and the Chinese community that lives and works in the Fort Pienc neighbourhood in Eixample, and combines these elements with Christmas traditional icons. Also, the lights are thought to be seen in two speeds, so that both pedestrians and vehicles that move around the street are able to enjoy them.
The lights will be switched on the following November 23 at 6:30p.m. in passeig de Gràcia, and will be switched off on January 6, following last year’s schedules.
