Midway, installation by the students of the Master in Ephemeral Architecture and Temporary Spaces and the Degree in Design and Innovation of Elisava, will participate in the new edition of Llum BCN. This is a European festival of reference in the field of light arts organized by the Barcelona City Council, where the interventions of creators from all areas of the visual arts converge: from contemporary art to architecture or design, and from technology to lighting design. Llum BCN 2024 will take place on February 2, 3 and 4, and will bring together tens of thousands of neighbors in the streets.

Midway invites visitors to explore the sense of alienation between slow nature and the city with the projection of real-time images of data and nature. A game of introspection and mediation has been created to respond to the unsettling feeling of being in the middle of two opposing dynamics: living between disobedient nature and a rapidly changing urban environment, between our origin and our creation. It almost seems as if we have lost connection, not only with our environment but also with our starting point. On the one hand, we feel increasingly disoriented in a world where everything goes too fast, overwhelmed by data and information exchanged everywhere at a pace that becomes impossible to comprehend. Meanwhile, we have become so far removed from our natural selves that we can no longer identify with our origins. A nature that continues to evolve at its own pace.
