On June 2, SOUVENIR opens to the public, an exhibition featuring projects developed by students from the Bachelor in Design and Innovation in collaboration with Amics de La Rambla. The exhibition will be open to visitors until July 2 at the Barcelona Colom Monument Tourist Office.

The exhibition presents the outcome of the second edition of this academic and cultural collaboration, focused on exploring the concept of the souvenir as an object to remember and a medium for reflecting on Barcelona’s local identity, particularly La Rambla as one of the city’s most symbolic cultural spaces.

A total of 22 young designers have reinterpreted the souvenir through a contemporary approach linked to Catalan traditions, materiality, and the authenticity of product design. The resulting proposals explore concepts such as reminiscence, ritual, and sensory experience, using cultural assets such as gastronomy, architecture, and popular traditions to create new forms of emotional connection with the city.

In order to enrich the creative process and strengthen ties with local craftsmanship, students worked alongside four artisan professionals, who contributed technical expertise and resources for the production of the functional prototypes on display.

Beyond their object-based dimension, SOUVENIR is also conceived as a collective editorial exercise. The projects are presented alongside critical and conceptual reflections on the main themes explored throughout the research and design process.

The exhibition can be visited from June 2 to July 2, 2026, at the Barcelona Colom Monument Tourist Office, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
