The photographer Malu Reigal, alumni of the Master in Photography and Design, has been selected to take part in the fourth edition of Kbr Flama’24, an annual project made by the KBr Photography Center of the MAPRE Foundation that aims to give visibility to young talent from the main photography schools in Barcelona.

In her work Pan, pijo y habas, Reigal examines family relationships and obligations in a highly masculinized context: the breeding and training of racing pigeons, a subject that she feels connected with because of her family background.

With this idea as a starting point, Reigal aims to address and measure the tensions between choice and mandate, studying the blurred lines that separate caring and raising, loving and possessing, inheriting and assuming… and tries to pose a reflection on bonds.

Pan, pijo y habas will be on display at the KBr Photography Center until January 25, 2025.
