Elisava’s Food Design Lab and FORK organise a new edition of EFOOD, an event that aims to explore cutting-edge food concepts, collaborate with industry pioneers and witness the future of food and design in an atmosphere of inspiration and discovery. This event wants to redefine the boundaries of imaginative food systems and fosters a community of innovators that shape the next frontier of sustainable world and design transdisciplinarity.

This edition will focus on food design in the Phygital World, which refers to the integration of physical and digital elements within the food sector, improving traditional culinary experiences with digital technologies. This idea can include interactive digital menus in restaurants, online food ordering and delivery platforms, or smart kitchen appliances. In essence, digital food design technologies could play a pivotal role in promoting sustainability within the food industry by improving operational efficiency, reducing waste, and promoting consumer awareness.

The event will take place in Elisava on the 7, 8 and 9 of November. In addition, the organizing institutions invite professors, MA and PhD students, researchers, chefs, professionals, and designers from all disciplines to submit unpublished papers and projects regarding any of the following thematic areas in which the exploration of the Phygital Food Design World is divided.

  • Design for Sustainability
  • Design for Social Innovation
  • Design for Education
  • Design for Policies and Communities
  • Design for Gastronomy
