Students from the Postgraduate in Design and Communication Strategies, in the framework of the Master in Creative Direction and Communication and the Master in Design and Art Direction, are presenting the Media Cube installation at the MIRA 2025 festival. This collective work, which can be seen on November 7 and 8 at the Fira de Montjuïc, will involve more than 70 students organized into four groups, one for each side of the cube, to create 16 projects that will be reproduced simultaneously.

Media Cube reflects on digital and post-digital culture in four areas: the arrival of Artificial Intelligence, identity on social media, algorithms as ecosystems, and the attention economy. In this choral project, the media cube becomes a symbol of shared experience, raising questions about how screens and media transform the way we communicate and relate to each other, while generating new opportunities, tensions, and ethical questions. It is an invitation to question and rethink the role of technology in our present and in the futures we imagine.

Each side of the cube incorporates seven CRT televisions, for a total of 28 screens that unite installation and content in a single piece. The project has been guided by thirteen tutors, a combined team providing conceptual and technical support, along with the artistic inspiration of Lolo & Sosaku and the academic guidance of Geo Taglietti.

A project that creates a dialogue between generations, technologies, and critical perspectives, where the physical installation, research, and creation of audiovisual content intertwine to explore the present and the history of digital culture.

On the first day of the festival, Ber Arce, director of the programs, will participate in the round table “In Conversation With Music & Visuals” at Casa Bonay, where he will discuss the project and the role of audiovisual art and education in promoting collective creation. The round table, moderated by postgraduate professor Georgia Taglietti, will also feature other artists and agents of digital culture: Pau Cristòful, Ignasi Sadurní and juns castella, and Anna Díaz.

MIRA is a digital arts and contemporary music festival that has been celebrated annually in Barcelona since 2011. Focused on the intersection between art and digital culture, the festival presents a program composed of live audiovisual shows, concerts, immersive installations, performances, 360° screenings, DJ sets, and lectures.

The Media Cube was produced by COM Elisava in collaboration with Laboor, AVSignals, Shaake studio, and Mordisco Studio, and was exhibited at the 2025 edition of the MIRA Festival.
