Once again, students of the Master in Set Design participate in the creation of a micro-opera for the new edition of Òh!Pera, a project promoted by Gran Teatre del Liceu and Disseny Hub Barcelona as part of the Festival Grec de Barcelona.
This initiative brings together contemporary music, emerging talent and creativity to offer an intense and surprising artistic experience. Fundació de Música Ferrer-Salat and Conservatori del Liceu collaborate in it, along with different design and performing arts schools in the city.
From July 25 to 27, the public will discover three newly created short operas. In the case of Elisava, the students have been in charge of designing the scenography, costumes and lighting of Shame, the Cockroach and El Corte Inglés, a play in which Sirah Martínez has participated as composer, Clàudia Cedó as librettist and Mercè Vila Godoy as scene director. The other two micro-operas are Ikària and Aesthetics and Massacre, with the active participation of students from other design faculties.
Òh!Pera is a choral proposal that gives visibility and value to the new generation of artists in the city and brings them closer to the lyrical genre. The project supports emerging talent and a 21st-century opera that aims to be closer, experimental and open to the future.
