Location Elisava (La Rambla, 30-32), Sala Àgora
Schedule November – January 2025
Elisava

From November 20th until January 23rd 2025, Elisava will host in the Sala Àgora the exhibition TRIANGULATIONS by the well-known Swiss graphic design studio NORM. This installation explores the concept of “triangulation” from different fields. In geometry, the triangulation is the division of a shape into triangles, while in psychology, it refers to the practice of introducing a third person in a relationship to maintain control.

Based on this concept, NORM introduces a second triangle, aiming to achieve a visually simple yet complex impact. The interaction between these two triangles creates dynamic shapes that challenge the basic structure of right angles, creating combinations that are unique and really beautiful in their complex simplicity and graphic clarity.

The founders of NORM, Dmitri Bruni and Manuel Krebs, studied graphic design in the School of Applied Arts in Biel-Bienne and founded their design study in Zurich in 1999. They were joined by Ludovico Barone in 2005. They specialize in editorial and typographic design, and they have published works such as Dimension of Two (2020) and Introduction (2000). Their commissions include projects for institutions such as the MoMA and the Tate Modern, among others, and collaborations with artists such as Arthur Jafa and Fischli & Weiss.
