Four micro-operas will be performed in different spaces of the Liceu (Sala Miralls, Teatrí del Conservatori and Foyer) next July 9 and 10 as a result of the project ÒH!PERA. This is an initiative promoted by the Teatro del Liceu and the Design Hub of Barcelona that aims to complement the training of young talents in creative disciplines of the city, including design, through the creation of four small-format operas.
In this context, Elisava students, tutored by Sebastià Brosa from the Master in Set Design, have participated in the project after being selected by the Design Promotion Department of the Barcelona City Council together with other institutions. The micro opera in which Elisava’s students have worked is Shadow. Eurydice Says, directed by Alicia Serrat and based on the book by Elfriede Jelinek.
This collaboration has consisted in the creation of the staging of four micro-operas (the other three have been assigned to BAU, EINA and Escola Massana, respectively). Teams of undergraduate and master’s degree students from different design disciplines have worked on aspects such as the design of the stage space, costumes, lighting and audiovisual design, and a fifth school has designed the image, communication and marketing of the project.
