Elisava at Dubai Design Week 2021

Elisava Alumni Gemma Delgado’s ‘Photodermis‘ Final Degree Project has been selected for the Global Grad Show, an annual event that highlights the best work from the world’s design schools, on the occasion of Dubai Design Week, which takes place between the 8th and the 12th of November.

‘Photodermis’ is an experimental, scientific-theoretical and speculative research project that proposes a compostable, local and autonomous Renewable Energy System. The study focuses on the research area of ​​Smart Inks, which are used to create photosynthetic skin for the human body, which generates energy from light. ‘Photodermis’ won the ei! of Elisava (2020) and a special mention in the IV Catalonia Ecodesign Award (2021).

In addition, Laura Clèries, Director of Elisava Research, participates in the “Mediterranean design: a strategic value for a global brand” day, within the Design Day “Made in Spain”, at the Spanish Pavilion of Dubai’s Expo.

In this session, she discusses the importance of the city of Barcelona in the world of design and creativity, which will have a conversation moderated by Isabel Roig, Director of the Barcelona Design Center (BCD), along with the participation of the Deputy Mayor of Barcelona City Council Jaume Collboni.
