The Masters and Postgraduates area invites the renowned designer Mona Kim, who will give the conference Creating Space to Mobilize the Public at Elisava.
Mona Kim is a designer, curator and professor. She creates immersive, media-driven public experiences for museums, international organizations, and global brands such as Warner Bros., Uniqlo, Samsung, and Canadian Museum for Human Rights. As designer and curator, she has led award-winning exhibitions and narrative environments for culture, entertainment, climate change and sustainability sectors.
As a professor, she teaches and collaborates with high-ranking institutions including USC-Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Parsons The New School in the departments of future museums, curatorial practice, and visual communication. Mona has also been invited as speaker and panelist at Google, Airbnb, Fjord/Accenture, and ArtFutura.
She is a recipient of international design awards D&AD, SEGD, Laus, and AIGA, and her work has been featured in publications including The New York Times, WWD (Women’s Wear Daily), The Creative Review, Gestalten, and The Art Institute of Chicago. After having lived and worked in New York, Milan and Barcelona, she is presently based in Paris.
