Barcelona Design Week hosts a number of activities and exhibitions by Elisava with MUJI, Kave Home, USM and RMIT

Barcelona Design Week Elisava

A new edition of Barcelona Design Week (BDW), Barcelona’s annual appointment with design and creativity, has arrived. Barcelona Design Week 2024 is back with the slogan Design for Human Future and the focus on water. A good opportunity to inspire, educate and mobilize the local and global community, showing how design and creativity, consciously applied, can be a powerful tool to address the critical challenge of water management and conservation.

These are the main activities of BDW 2024 organized by -or with the participation of- Elisava:

 

Elisava x MUJI: Gift Collection – Craftsmanship and fun objects

Exhibition Gift Collection: Craftmanship and Fun Objects, created by students of the Degree in Design and Innovation in collaboration with the Japanese company MUJI. A collection of gift objects for the home that, beyond their form or function, establish a relationship through play.

Elisava x Kave Home: Exhibition and awards ceremony for student projects

The Kave Home store exhibits some of the prototypes created by the students, offering visitors the opportunity to admire the ingenuity and creativity of the future designers. The event will culminate on Tuesday evening, October 22, with the awards ceremony, a special moment to recognize the talent and effort of the participants.

Exhibition MYCOCOSM – Mycelial Design Studio

Exhibition that explores mycelium through various research projects that showcase design’s ability to bring global communities together and collaborate on more humane and sustainable design. Exhibition organized by Common Design Studio, an international collaborative design project between Elisava, RMIT University Melbourne, London College of Communication and RMIT University Vietnam.

Exhibition Elisava x USM – Design for future needs

Presentation of projects by students of the Degree in Design and the Degree in Industrial Design Engineering in collaboration with the Swiss company USM Modular Furniture, which for more than 50 years has been developing modular solutions for the home and workspace.

Jornada Nº18: Design for Human Future

During the Design For Human Future day at the DHub foyer, Kave Home exhibits a selection of furniture pieces from the new AW24 and Elisava collection, with the participation of the Master in Strategic Design and the presentation of the following projects by Elisava students:

  • Chantepleure Watering Can, by Yi Shi Yu Ye and Sara Morón
  • Hydrio, by Marta Tuduri

Amor seco

Through this experience we will have the opportunity to reflect on our relationship with water. We will understand how the way we treat it has turned what should be a conscious relationship into a “dry love”. Organized by: Master in Strategic Design of Elisava.

Underground BDW

Underground BDW is a new group exhibition in an unconventional space, Parking Gallery by LCI Barcelona. In it, visitors will be able to immerse themselves in creative and experimental proposals that merge art, design and sustainability, with a clear focus on building a more sustainable and humane future. The exhibition includes an exhibitor from Elisava’s Master in Strategic Design.
