A team from Elisava Research collaborates in the design of the workspaces at the TOUS headquarters

An Elisava Research team has collaborated in the design of the workspaces for the headquarters of the renowned jewellery firm TOUS, located in Manresa. The aim has been to opt for a remodelling with criteria of sustainability and well-being of workers, and based on biophilia and Feng Shui, prioritising the optimisation of spaces and processes in favour of efficiency.
The multidisciplinary team is made up of senior architects, Elisava professors, consultants, researchers, as well as several Elisava Alumni, who have worked together and in a coordinated manner to carry out a comprehensive 360-degree sustainability diagnosis. This team has been coordinated with the TOUS technical department.
This action is part of a transformation project carried out by the firm, in which Elisava Research has contributed its knowledge of workspace conditions and people’s behaviour, creating a design proposal that ensures the well-being of the brand’s employees, without forgetting sustainability issues.
Some of the proposals that TOUS has implemented are a new cafeteria; an amphitheatre-shaped agora for large group meetings; more relaxed work space modules that extend along the floors, and cabins for meetings or for individual work, among others.
Thus, the proposed new organisational model favours synergies between the different departments through a more agile centralised management, and has turned the workspaces into living spaces where creativity, inspiration and innovation increase, but also the health and vitality of the TOUS team.
