PRESENTATION

The programme proposes making a practical exercise to bring the application of sustainability criteria into the design process. The theoretical foundations are dealt with by members of the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Techniques (Institut de Ciències i Tècniques Ambientals - ICTA-UAB) and the design process is led by Josep Puig (industrial designer). Five sessions using eco-design techniques on a real base exercise, a visit to specialised centres and assessment of the final results.

GOALS

The mail goals of this programme are:

- To see and apply the environmental tools in the process of designing a product.

- To obtain coherent solutions by working with criteria and variables of sustainability in industrial design.

- To assume strategies for controlling the environmental impact of products from logical criteria of manufacture and responsible usability.

- To use methodological and practical tools to include environmental criteria in the practice of product design.
