PRESENTATION

Ecoedition is an innovative way to manage publications according to principles of sustainability. It consists of incorporating environmental and social criteria in the editing process that minimise the negative impacts of this activity in all of its phases. Ecoedition recommends the adoption of the best available techniques and the best environmental practices, including the whole of the product lifecycle, from content edition, passing through design, to printed or online distribution. Ecoedition also considers how to calculate-reduce-compensate CO₂ emissions in the process of creating a publication.

GOALS

The mail goals of this programme are:

- To show current data on the environmentalisation of the graphic sector.

- To present the role of the environmentally responsible editor.

- To establish the ecodesign of the publications as a work tool.

- To describe the bases for an environmentally responsible graphic production.

- To know the environmental impact in the new area of electronic publications and reading supports.

- To understand the concept of the “ecological footprint” of a printed and digital publication.
