Classroom at ELISAVA

The Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in Industrial Design lasts four academic years.

The first two years comprise core and compulsory subjects with two aims.

On the one hand, the study of scientific, expression, and representation tools, essential for the practice of the profession. An introduction to the world of design and artistic culture is also provided.

On the other hand, the study of the technological and industrial concepts required for technical product solutions.

In the final years, the learning routes formed by optional subjects provide students with a tailored professional profile. Students can opt for one of three different profiles, depending on the subjects chosen.

  • Product designer. This pathway comprises theoretical subjects. It allows students to explore the product design sector and trains them to tackle design and engineering problems.
  • Product engineer. This pathway comprises technological and industrial subjects. It increases skill in the development of industrial objects.
  • Product manager. This pathway comprises management subjects. It provides greater skill in the control and management of the entire product development process, and trains students to manage complex projects or a technical office.

In the last trimester of the fourth year, students will work on their final degree project (FDP) to demonstrate their skills in the design, development, and industrialisation of an object.
