The Enric Bricall Library is one of the main support services for research and teaching, as well as for the training of future professionals in the design and engineering sectors. This service is open to the entire ELISAVA community and to specialists in the sector.
Enric Bricall, who was the school’s director between 1986 and 1998, was behind the initiative that established the library in 1988. His aim was for the library to embrace the various areas of design so it could contribute to the training of future professionals, and promote learning and creation. Over the years, the library has become an area of knowledge for the ELISAVA community and a testimony to Enric Bricall’s vision of the future.

Enric Bricall Reserve Collection
The Enric Bricall Reserve Collection is a special section in ELISAVA's Library, looked after by Gloria Farré-Escofet with the collaboration of the librarian Andrés Jansà, which is for the purpose of research into issues related to the history and culture of design. It also includes original editions and facsimiles of books which are rare or noted for their graphic design.
The Enric Bricall Reserve Collection consists of material which, due to its characteristics, needs to be partly preserved and kept in special conditions. That is why this collection cannot be borrowed and there is no free access to it. You need to go to the counter if you wish to consult it. The documents in this collection are identified in the catalogue by the letters FREB.
The library’s display space contains materials forming part of this special collection and which will be changed periodically.
A blog has also been created which provides more information on the documents forming part of the Enric Bricall Reserve Collection.
If you have any questions on access to and the content of the Reserve Collection, please write to firstname.lastname@example.org
Library Enric Bricall has three distinct areas. The welcome area is a place where you will find the latest acquisitions of the library, copies of the journals to which we subscribe, a small exhibition space with a sample of the documents that are part of the Reserve Fund Enric Bricall, and an area with computers and scanners.
The work area is a place of silent study. It consists of several illuminated tables with plugs for laptops. In the copying area you will find a photocopier and printer in black and white and more computers and scanners.
