The 25th Anniversary of Barcelona’s Olympic Games is commemorated this July. To celebrate this occasion, the figure of Cobi, the mascot of the 92’ Barcelona’s Games designed by Javier Mariscal, has been re-edited.
The project, work of the students of the Master in Packaging Design of ELISAVA Pablo Calzado, Cristina Castells and Andrea Ribera, has consisted on the ideation of the concept, graphic design and packaging of the product, and has been made in collaboration with the company Pilma within the framework of the workshop Branding & Retail, carried out by Marc Català and Eduard Juanola.
Cobi returns to Barcelona by the sea
With words of the people in charge of the new Packaging of the figure, “Cobi transmits very human values: he is funny, optimistic, spontaneous and affable”. In its approach, Cobi comes back to Barcelona after having visited all the Olympic cities. “He does so in a cargo ship, in a very special box: it reminds the typical loading and unloading boxes made of pine wood, with holes included, so he can breathe and talk. After 25 years, Cobi is willing to give illusion and fun to the people who live and visit his city, Barcelona”.
