ELISAVA and FAD (Fostering Arts and Design) have just signed a collaboration agreement to establish a new direction in the management of Materfad. Material Center of Barcelona.
Thanks to the agreement, Materfad, Spain's first multisectoral materials center, will be able to grow to respond to students, design professionals and architects, and companies looking for future solutions based on material innovation and associated technologies.
The agreement was signed by Javier Peña, General Director of ELISAVA and Nani Marquina, President of FAD, who stressed that the collaboration between Materfad and ELISAVA will not only strengthen the links between education and business, but will also boost research in materials. This will allow them to develop their capital role in the future of design, sustainability and communication, as well as understanding the impact of their use on industry and society.
Founded in 2006 by FAD, Materfad, based in the Disseny Hub Barcelona, is the only material consultation center in Spain dedicated to innovation with complete services of material, database, consultancy and training, and is present in an international network for exchange of knowledge with a strong presence in Latin America.
ELISAVA, historical ally of Materfad, is definitely committed to promoting this center with a dual objective: to provide a better service to its students and to grow this center of materials.
