Dr. Albert Fuster participates in the Design for Collaborative Cities conference in Shanghai

29.10.2018

Albert Fuster, Academic Director of ELISAVA, Architect and PhD in History of Art and Architecture, presented "City Stories" and "Design schools strategies and tools 1" at the Design for Collaborative Cities Conference (DxCC Conference) that took place the 28-29 October at the College of Design and Innovation of the Tongji University (Shanghai). The talks took place within the framework of the DESIS Thematic Cluster on Collaborative Cities and the Tongji Design Week 2018, in which Ezio Manzini, leading thinker in design for sustainability, DESIS Network founder and ELISAVA professor, was also part.

The DxCC conference deals with questions as what can design do for social cohesion, for urban commons and the role that plays in the regenerative circular economy, among others. And it does it so by presenting several meaningful examples worldwide. It goes on to highlight the role of design within them, meaning the design-driven initiatives that characterise them, the design culture that orients them, and the specific design tools that have been used.
