Lex Pott lecture: "Alchemist"

ELISAVA (La Rambla, 30-32). Aleix Carrió Hall (1st floor)

In collaboration with Festival DEMO, Dutch designer Lex Pott has been invited by our Simultaneous Studies Program to give a lecture on Thursday, May 18th at ELISAVA.

After an exclusive workshop only for our students, his lecture will be open to the public. Pott will talk mainly about his material experiments done in wood, stone and metal. As he says, he always “try to find the true meaning of these materials. By zooming in on its qualities, the true identity of the material is revealed”. He will show both his industrial and one off pieces, always putting the true material in its context.

Lex Pott (1985) employs a raw and intuitive method. In his work, he returns to the origin of the materials he uses most: wood, stone and metal. He does not hide his designs under indirect layers, but reduces them to their very essence. Pott works from his design studio based in Rotterdam. He graduated cum laude in 2009 at the Design Academy Eindhoven.
