The Postgraduate in Design of Bars and Restaurants invites Natali Canas, Creative Director at Equipo Creativo, to give the lecture “Concepto-Proceso-Proyecto” (Concept-Process-Project) at ELISAVA on January 22nd.
In her conference, Canas will explain how “just like in food, we start from the premise that spaces have to say something, create sensations and produce experiences. So, following a working method that is mainly conceptual and based on a thorough research process, we translate the gastronomic concepts of our customers into unique and particular designs”.
Canas is an architect in ETSAB-UPC and she was a recipient of Fundació La Caixa scholarship for pursuing a Master’s in Science and Advanced Architectural Design at the Columbia University in New York, where she received the prestigious William Ware Prize For Excellence In Design. Besides being Creative Director, she’s also founding partner of El Equipo Creativo, a studio based in Barcelona that is specialized in designing restaurants, hotels and branding spaces. Her work has been broadly published and recognized in more than 20 international design prizes. In 2017, the studio received the prize Firm of the Year by the American Architecture Prize, and the FRAME magazine selected them as one of the most influential design studios in the world. With a particular interest in teaching, she has collaborated in different design schools in Barcelona, as well as in Columbia University in the city of New York.
