A lecture by Gerard Sanmartí, from Lagranja Design

5 p.m.
ELISAVA (La Rambla, 30-32). Sala Aleix Carrió (1st floor)

Gerard Sanmartí, from the studio Lagranja Design, will offer at ELISAVA the talk 'No me pises que llevo chanclas' (Do not step on me, I am wearing flip-flops) next July 10th. He has been invited by the Postgraduate in Work Space Design.

Sanmartí, from Barcelona, tells us what the lecture will be about: "In the 21st century, the business model has been transformed. New talent doesn’t understand the old protocols and it renews them in the same way that it modifies the work spaces in order to make them more social and habitable. We continuously work and the borderline between home and work is very thin. Nowadays we prioritize comfort in almost everything and the work space is no exception. Throughout the talk, we will see this transformation through the latest projects in this field of Lagranja”.

In 1996, when he had just graduated in Interior Design at ELISAVA, Sanmartí was invited with a scholarship to continue his studies at the communication creative center FABRICA, run by Oliviero Toscani.

This fact will mark a turning point in his career, thanks to the mix of cultures and creative disciplines and the meeting with his current associate Gabriele, with whom he founded Lagranja afterwards.

Throughout many years, Gerard has been combining teaching with the international activity of his studio, present in Hong Kong, Singapore and Turkey, and that carries out Product, Interior Design and Architecture projects.

Among other awards, Lagranja has been awarded by the USA Interior Design Association, by the Red Dot, by IDEA and it has also been awarded with the Premi Ciutat de Barcelona.
