What uses will wood have in the coming years? Do you have a future as a material? What applications could it have beyond our planet, for example, on Mars?
No, we're not talking about any book or any science fiction movie. To these and other questions wants to answer the exhibition Future Woods. Earth & Mars, which disembarks at Materfad materials center (FAD + ELISAVA) on September 18 (7:00 pm).
The exhibition addresses how the future of this material will be applied in architectural and interior environments on Earth, as well as how it could exist and be used on Mars. In this sense, it will show the main trends and advances in innovation, sustainability and design in the wood sector.
Sustainability and circular design
At a time when the practice of design and architecture demand greater environmental awareness and consolidate terms such as sustainability and circular design, wood, as organic matter, is regaining interest as the only construction material that produces no polluting carbon emissions.
The opening of the exhibition will coincide with the initial welcome ceremony for the students of the Master in Design through New Materials of ELISAVA and Materfad.
