ELISAVA presents 'Smart Skin', a pioneer pilot project that will revolutionize the attendance to festivals and big events.
'Smart Skin' is a temporary, non-invasive and ultra wearable electronic tattoo that will offer its users an infinity range of dynamic applications: from access control to electronic payments or personal information management. This device adapts to the skin's texture in an innocuous way thanks to a complex technology encapsulated in an superfine film. This is a system that will simplify the way in which people interact with a global data system.
'Smart Skin' was created by a multidisciplinary team of students from the ELISAVA's degrees in Engineering in Industrial Design and Graphic Design and Interaction, directed by Jessica Fernández, head of Projects in the School's Engineering department.
The pilot project will be tested in the next edition of the OFFF International Festival of Creativity, Design and Digital Culture by 300 selected assistants, who will live an interactive experience that will show them the potential applications of this epidermal technology.
The 18th edition of the OFF Festival will take place on the 24, 25 and 26 of May at the Barcelona's Museu del Disseny.
