The Maker Faire arrives for the first time ever in Barcelona this weekend (June 17th and 18th). It is the biggest event dedicated to the global movement of digital creation Maker. 3D printing, Electronics, Robotics, Big Data, Augmented Reality, Digital Manufacturing, Computer Vision, Internet of Things, Nanotechnology, Biotechnology, Photonics and Drones, among others, come together in this initiative born in San Francisco in 2006.
Maker Faire will include exhibitions, interactive shows, workshops and presentations where the visitors will discover initiatives and projects while talking with their protagonists. One of these lectures is carried out by Oscar Tomico, Head of Studies of the Degree in Engineering in Industrial Design of ELISAVA, who will participate in the talk Embedding Digital and Bio Technology in Fashion (Sunday 18th June, 4 p.m.), together with Zoe Romano (WeMake) and Aldo Solazzo (Moumena).

ELISAVA will also be present at the meeting with the workshops 'Ephemeral words' and 'The sound of paper', as well as with its own stand, with prototypes of projects by 3rd and 4th year degree students, related to the additive production, prototyping with arduino and interaction design. This space will also have the presence of students and teachers of the Engineering studies of the School.
