“Materials Visions. From design to industry: material solutions to architecture” is the title of the first joint exhibition organized by Materfad, Center of Materials of Barcelona, and ELISAVA school. It will be presented at the Future Arena, the innovation and trends space of Construmat fair, from May 23rd to 26th.
This exhibition aims at offering new perspectives and applications to those materials that will motivate the innovation in the building field, as well as offering a creative vision of the future of materials. The exhibition Materials Visions has been conceived as an itinerary from innovation in the industry, through a representation of materials commercially available, to the research and experimentation, represented in projects of universities and research centers, offering a complete market and future research analysis.
Materials exhibited have been selected by Materfad-ELISAVA with the aim of presenting a thematic evolution starting from low-tech biological materials, going through the bio-high tech transition to reach the more technologically advanced ones.
Likewise, information is presented about the future scenarios where these materials will have their applications:
Healthy Spaces: materials that motivate the environmental improvements and the generation of healthier habitats.
Light Constructions: materials that allow the creation of light structures, through the optimization of the quantity of used material.
Emotional and Intuitive: materials and habitats that offer a highlighted sensorial experience, for their colors, texture and composition.
Mutant Spaces: materials that transform themselves according to an external stimulus, creating active and functional spaces.
The strategic alliance Materfad-ELISAVA allows the research and creative talent with future vision to join forces with commercial vision and technological observatory with an international approach. This way, the detection of opportunities of development and innovation for institutions, companies and society in general are facilitated.
