The project, tutorized by Jessica Fernández, is part of a kit of several intelligent table products designed with and for El Celler de Can Roca and sets out the synergies between haute cuisine and advanced materials.

Form with memory

The exhibition considers from the prototyping process of ‘Càlid’ to the final product. The container is made by a SMA skeleton with shape memory, inside an eatable silicone body. It is served cold and changes its appearance before the dinner guests when pouring the hot preparations in it.

‘Càlid’ has been previously presented as an innovation example of Roca Lab at the World Economic Forum in Dubai and at the Science and Cooking Course of Harvard in 2014.
